Architecture

Richard MacDonald loves architecture and has worked with many leading architects and interior designers. Each one of his monumental designs includes a turnkey design in all aspects of the plaza, waterfall, lighting, and entrance. He also takes part in the complete design and renovation of all wholly owned and family galleries. For our individual clients and corporations, we design the entire installation and map out and coordinate the curation and installation of artwork. Richard MacDonald’s vision extends beyond the sculpted form to include the surrounding interior design or exterior architectural space. Every monumental sculpture has included all aspects of the plaza, waterfall, lighting, and entrance, all designed and implemented by the artist himself. Richard MacDonald’s architectural sensibilities can be seen in all the family-owned galleries he has designed to showcase his work. Every aspect of installation and display is part of the artist’s design process for both individuals and corporate clients.

The Artist's Touch

Richard MacDonald’s method of working by directly observing a living model is becoming increasingly rare amongst artists of our time. Developing the sensitivity and facility to watch a person in motion and capture anatomy, movement, mood, and personality in clay is an extraordinarily complex and demanding task, yet the quality of the work speaks to the vitality, energy, and power made possible by this experience.
